Shimano Soare XR: A Versatile Rod for Light Game Fishing
The Soare series has traditionally been associated with light game fishing, focusing on species like Aji (horse mackerel) and Mebaru (rockfish). However, the newly launched Soare XR this fall introduces a more versatile concept: a rod that can target various fish species using PE lines below 0.8 gauge. It’s the perfect “all-rounder” that any angler would find incredibly useful. Let's dive into this exciting new addition to the Soare series!
Soare XR: A Middle-End Series Packed with the Latest Technology
The Soare XR series is built on the concept of an all-round rod designed for light game while also accommodating various other fish species. The rod’s blanks feature Spiral X Core, a high-end technology that offers a balance between lightweight design and strength. In addition, it comes equipped with Carbon Monocoque Grips and X Guides, delivering performance that rivals higher-end models.
Extensive Lineup Beyond Light Game Fishing
The Soare XR series offers an extensive lineup of 11 models, making it one of the most comprehensive ranges for light game fishing. While it excels in targeting Mebaru and Aji, it can also be used to catch other species like Kamasu (barracuda), Mekki (small sea bass), and coastal migratory fish. This multi-purpose rod adapts to various fishing situations requiring light tackle, proving itself versatile across different species.
Lightweight and Strong Blank Design
The Spiral X Core technology in the Soare XR blanks prevents twisting and crushing, significantly increasing strength while maintaining the lightweight properties essential for light game fishing. The external layer of the blanks is reinforced with carbon tape, allowing anglers to control the bend curve of the rod with ease.
Enhanced Sensitivity with Carbon Monocoque Grips
The Soare XR features a carbon monocoque grip with a hollow structure, which is both lighter and sturdier than traditional grips. This construction improves sensitivity by enhancing information transmission while simultaneously reducing the rod’s overall weight.
Improved Casting Performance with X Guides
The Soare XR is equipped with Shimano's original X Guide technology. These guides feature a smooth, low-profile frame and large-diameter rings to minimize line troubles and enhance casting performance. The lightweight titanium material used in the guides also helps reduce the rod’s weight, allowing the blanks to perform at their best.
